Students may come to an Extension Center Office for Orientation, Placement Testing, and Registration. (Visit the Livingston or Washtenaw page for dates and times.) Students may also utilize online services or go to the main campus (see Steps to Take Credit Classes at WCC).

Registration Classes Available
Please visit an extension site web page for available classes at each location:
  • Livingston (Brighton Center & Hartland Center)
  • Washtenaw (Chelsea Washington Street Center & Harriet Street Center)
Most Classes have Prerequisites
Unless specified otherwise, all 100 and 200 level classes require assessment scores that meet WCC minimums in reading and writing (see Prerequisites Explained in the Table of Contents.) Some classes have specific requirements that are listed on the line just below the title of the class in the time listing.

Students who register online and get PREQ AND TEST SCORE ERROR have not met the class and /or test score prerequisite(s) for the class. These students can take another class, or if they feel they have met the prerequisite requirement, they can request a prerequisite override online.

The link to the override request form can be accessed from the registration page by clicking on the PREQ AND TEST SCORE ERROR message or by clicking the link called "Request prerequisite override for CRN with a PREQ error."

Tuition for Extension Classes
Tuition for classes in the Washtenaw County are as listed on the Tuition Rates & Fees page and is based on your residency.

Out-District residents get a break on tuition: A $15 per-credit-hour scholarship will be applied to the account of out-district students for classes taken at the Brighton or Hartland Centers, unless they already have the Work In-District or Property In-District rate. For example, the scholarship credit for a 3 credit hour class will be $45. The scholarship will be applied as soon as the student registers.
