Today's students include recent high school graduates and established
professionals starting or enhancing a career in the culinary and hospitality
field. The common desire is growth within a people centered occupation
in a job market that spans the globe.
Many students merge work in the field with their education at WCC. Some
positions held are front line cooks, guest service representatives, and
assistant baking and pastry chefs. Advisors and adjunct instructors are
excellent resources for job placement.
"Very often it is just the two of us (a small catering firm) to
do the planning, shopping, cooking, cleaning, packing, and serving. I
can do any of these jobs with confidence."
Kathy Kenny, Truffles Catering, WCC Graduate
"I feel I have a good general knowledge of food and preperation basics,
which I am building on every day. WCC was an important part of these basics."
James Morcom, Madison Club, WCC Graduate
"Cross training is very important, not only for usefulness when
others are absent but just to know a little bit about how things run in
other departments in order to have respect for time and ability."
Tammy Louise Oberleiter, Webers, WCC Graduate
