WCC Systems Administration
The Unix administrators and Oracle database administrators that make up the Systems Administration group
are responsible for the continued availability of WCC's enterprise systems. These include the Banner
administrative system, Blackboard, and e-mail. They are also responsible for all data security, backup,
and integrity. The Unix administrators provide programming and software support to Web services and
other departments. They also monitor and maintain all computing and storage hardware.
The database
administrators are responsible for the enterprise data stored in various Oracle databases. They monitor
and maintain database performance, protection, and reliability. They often work with functional end users
on issues dealing with the Banner enterprise software.
Working as part of the Information Technology
Services (ITS) team, the Systems Administration group supports the Systems Development, User Support,
and Web Services groups to bring the highest level of services to our users.
