Bourbon Street was Rockin’ at WCC!

Partygoers had a taste of New Orleans on February 6, 2010, as they experienced the WCC Foundation's 25th Annual Mardi Gras "Bourbon Street Beckons"!

This event was established to offer people an opportunity to have fun while raising funds to benefit the students of Washtenaw Community College through the foundation. This year our generous sponsors and guests contributed over $108,000 to help our students!

Thank you to all who made this possible... you are truly amazing!

Special thanks to the event co-chairs Robert Wm. Brewster & Dr. Dina Cocco and Robert & Christine Euritt, the Mardi Gras committees, the WCC Foundation staff, and the WCC Culinary Arts & Hospitality department, along with celebrity guest chefs that prepared culinary delights and mentored the WCC students in the process:
  • Chef Ramon Herrera, Arts Institute
  • Chef Joseph Nader, Ford Field
  • Chef Ernest Prokos, Quarter Bistro
  • Chef Dave Rensi, Opus One
  • Chef Dan Tesin, Campus Inn
  • Chef Brian Reyes, Kensington Court
  • Chef Cheryl Hanewich of La Dolce Vita

And to our WCC chefs Terri Herrera, Paul McPherson, Carol Calder Deinzer, Sharyl Politi, Catherine Ackerman of Gandy Dancer, Chris Troiano and Mary Burns, lab assistants to the chefs, the hospitality WCC staff of Jill Beauchamp, her front of the house supervisors for the event-Dan Beauchamp, Alice Gannon Boss, Patrick Downey, Olga Jacobsen, Laura Kokkalas, Karen Vanwagner, her lab assistant Nicole Gester, and to all the WCC students who worked so hard, you're the best!

Another very special thank you to all the sponsors and numerous volunteers, whose generous support and gifts of time and talent, truly made this event so special.
