There were no winter blues among the 300 finely dressed guests as they stepped into a tropical night of food, spirits, and music. After a welcome of flowered leis and a specialty "Sex on the Beach" cocktail, the guests were pulled into the warmth of the night by the amazing music flowing from John E Lawrence (WCC Musical Performance professor) accompanied by five WCC Music Performance alums-John Dulph, Emmanuel Fields, Gwyneth Hayes, Athena Johnson, and Pat Middlestat. The flowing spirits, both Tiki and liquid, and the lavish and incredibly delicious displays of food for the appetizer, dinner, and dessert tables were over the top. The Band L’USA, closing out the night, rocked the house with their music and vocals while the guests danced till the very end.
For 28 years, the WCC Foundation has offered Mardi Gras guests an opportunity to share in the fabulous food and merriment as they raise funds that benefit the students of Washtenaw Community College.
