Robofest Washtenaw Community College is proud to be one of the official regional Robofest competition hosts in Michigan. Robofest is a computerized robotics contest in which 5th - 12th grade students design, construct and program their robots while learning problem-solving techniques, mathematics, logic, creativity, physics, electronics, mechanics, teamwork, computers and computer programming. Students can compete in two playful ways: Game Competition - a team of students competes to accomplish robotics missions at either the junior or senior level. Exhibition - each team has complete freedom to show off any creative robotics project. The three features of that make the Robofest competition unique are: Open platform - students can use any autonomous robot platform. Unknown mission - some portions of the contest are unknown until the day of the competition. Low cost - only a small team registration fee is required. WCC Robofest teams form in January and speed the time learning about programming LEGO MindStorms robots and completing their robots for the regional competition in April.
