What practices do Human Resources follow to keep Social Security Numbers Private?
  • HRM maintains all written documentation in a locked environment. Only Human Resources staff is allowed to access these files.

  • All electronically stored documentation is safeguarded by firewalls and controlled security access.

  • Any paper document containing a social security number will be disposed by shredding by an HRM member, per retention guidelines.

How do I get to Human Resources office?
The WCC campus is located at 4800 East Huron River Drive. Human Resources is located in the Business Education Building in room BE 120.

Please visit the Directions and Maps section of the web site for maps and directions to WCC.

Will I be notified of the status of my application by Human Resources?
Yes. Review is done approximately within 2 weeks of position close date. Those not selected for interview are notified via letter. Those chosen for interview are notified via telephone. All candidates are notified once the position has been accepted and filled. For part time positions you will only be notified if you interviewed for the position and were not offered the position.

Does Human Resources accept applications/resumes for positions that are not posted?
No, you can only apply to postings listed on our website http://jobs.wccnet.edu

What are the qualifications for becoming a part-time Adjunct Faculty?
Adjunct status is earned through a completion of WCC teaching hours and credentials as outlined in the Washtenaw Community College Education Association Part-time Adjunct Agreement.

What materials will I need to submit to Human Resources to apply for a position?
A completed application and transcripts are required. A cover letter and resume can be submitted as a supplement. More specific application requirements will be listed on the job posting. Once hired, all positions require payroll documents and I-9 forms.

Does WCC sponsor H-1 Visas?
No.

How many hours can I teach as a part-time faculty?
You can only teach 120 contact hours/8 contact hours per semester.

As a part-time clerical support staff, how many hours can I work?
You may only work 19.50 hours per week with a maximum of 1100 hours per fiscal year (July 1 - June 30).

What happens if I do not have all the required materials for my job application?
You must have all the required materials, as outlined on the job posting, by the deadline date in order to be considered for the position.

When are my application materials due into the Human Resources office?
By the deadline on the job posting.

How will I be paid?
Hourly (non-exempt) employees and faculty are paid every two weeks.

Salaried (exempt) employees are paid semi-monthly.

Where do I go to pick up my paycheck?
You may pick up your check at the Cashier's window on the 2nd floor of the Student Center Building. You must have a picture ID.

I am not receiving my direct deposit pay stubs, who do I contact?
Pay stubs are no longer mailed, please refer to MyWCC.

As an employee, how do I change my name and or address with the college?
Please contact the Human Resources office to change your name. Address changes require the completion of an address change form which can be obtained through our office or through the HRM website, or change on MyWCC. All changes will automatically update on all college systems.

As a student, how do I change my name and or address with the college?
All Students, who are not employees, should contact the Student Connection Center at 973-3543.

Do I need to complete a full application to apply for each position?
You must complete an application form on http://jobs.wccnet.edu/ and then attach to any posted positions in which you want to apply for.

Where can I get my MyWCC password reset?
Your MyWCC password is your netID password. To reset your netID password, visit Change Password.

I need to verify my employment over the phone. Who do I contact?
The Office of Human Resource Management will only release hire date, title and/or termination date via telephone. All other information will require a release of information form which can be found on the Human Resources website.

If the College has an emergency closing will I get paid? What if I am required to work during the emergency closing?
No loss of base pay for an emergency closing or a delayed opening for those already scheduled to work. Employees required to work during emergency closing shall be paid double the employees hourly rate for all hours worked in such situation. Please also refer to the Emergency Closing Procedure

How can I get paperwork notarized?
The Office of Human Resource Management has notaries available; please call 973-3497 to check staff schedules. Students should contact the Student Services area at 973-3543 for notary services.

What kind of services does Clerical Services offer?
Clerical Services provides a wide variety of support services for faculty and staff campus-wide. Office coverage, aiding with child care in the Children's Center, project assistance, help with special events and other projects are provided by student assistants, on-call personnel, and temporary agency employees through this office. Clerical Services also provides on-campus deliveries of correspondence, collating, labeling, stuffing and sorting of small and large mailing projects.

All Personnel Coverage Request Forms and Project Assistance Request Forms should be submitted to the Supervisor of Clerical Services.

What do I need to do to get a substitute for my area?
Complete a "Personnel Coverage Request Form" and contact Human Resources at 973-3351.

What if WCC faculty or staff need temporary help with projects such as filing, shredding and/or mailings?
Complete a 'Project Assistance Request Form' and forward to the Clerical Services office in GM 300Z. Please give as much notice as possible.

Who do I call with questions regarding UltraTime?
Please contact the payroll office at 973-3509.

Who should I contact with questions regarding my PTO, vacation, sick and personal time?
You can access this information in your My WCC account or contact the Compensation and Benefits area at 973-3325.
