Academic Advising
Early planning is essential to ensure a smooth transition from high school to college. Even after you become a student at WCC, meeting with advisors on an ongoing basis is recommended. Staff are available to answer your questions both before and after you enroll. Referrals will be made regarding registration, admission, financial aid and specific programs.
Academic advising is arranged by appointment at Learning Support Services with one of the Program Specialists, Cathy Gilgenbach,
Teresa White and Kristy VanMarter, who will assist in selecting a balanced load of classes as well as
assist you in staying on track for your academic goals. Part of the importance of meeting with a
Program Specialist is to discuss and arrange needed accommodations each semester to meet your needs.
Your successful academic performance is important to us. If you have questions or are experiencing
any problems it is recommended that you contact the office during the semester for assistance. It is also recommended that accommodation requests are made early in the semester.
