Home Builders Institute
Founded in 1983, HBI strives to assist builders in enhancing their professional standing by offering continuing education and certification programs. Continuing education programs offer training to obtain construction superintendent designation, concrete specialization, residential construction academy, and trades training for youth and adults. OSHA training and Hurricane Katrina Reconstruct Projects are some of the other opportunities offered by HBI.

Design-Build Institute of America
The DBIA was founded in 1993 to advocate and advance single source project delivery. It embraces architecture, engineering, and construction services under a single contract. It aims to integrate the roles of the designer and constructor. It publishes the quarterly, Design-Build. It develops standards of ethics and practice for the DesignBuild method.

Construction Weblinks
This conglomeration of numerous building resources features links to organizations grouped according to private entitles, federal agencies, state agencies, local governments, and college and universities among other categories. Industry topics include building codes, safety, licensing, financing, bidding contracts, insurance, statistics, and continuing education.

Construction Management Association of America (CMAA)
CMAA claims to be the "North America's only organization dedicated exclusively to the interests of professional program and construction management. Its aim to promote professionalism and excellence in construction management embracing :" �excellence of execution--including rapid completion, high fidelity to specifications, conscientious cost control, and optimum use of all resources. The Association's Career Headquarters connects industry employers with a qualified audience of construction management professionals and college students seeking internships.

Construction Innovation Forum (CIF)
CIF is an international nonprofit organization formed in 1987 to recognize and encourage innovation that improves the quality and reduces construction costs. Its NOVA awards are granted to advances in all areas of the construction industry: materials, design, detailing, fabrication, equipment, labor relations, training and safety as well as innovative concepts and methods.

Residential Construction Employers Council (RCEC)
RCEC is an association of construction trade employers and builders involved in residential housing. It offers an array of programs and services to improve the residential construction business.

Associated Owners and Developers
AOD's mission is to support the interests of owners and developers by promoting education and cooperation among individuals and organizations that support the design, development, and construction of buildings. Architects, construction managers, engineers, lawyers, and general contractors are among its members. AOD publishes owner/developer contracts. It offers many seminars on quality and cost management, market forecasting, creative financing, teamwork, contract negotiation, arbitration, and environmental issues.

Sustainable Building Sources
This site's Green Builders Professional Directory offers a listing of green builders, experts in solar energy and alternative wastewater systems and other professionals involved in sustainability .The Sustainable Building Sourcebook is one of the first and still one of the best indepth documents on materials and methods for building green.

National Association of Women in Construction
This group was started by 16 women in 1953 to create a support network for the minimal number of women in the construction industry. It has now grown to over 5500 members nationally and internationally who are women in construction from trades women to business owners. It offers an education forum with scholarships and partnering programs and a career center.

Construction Owners Association of America
This site represents the construction project owner's interests and aims to act as a forum to gather and exchange ideas and goals. The site offers downloadable contracts for use by owners and links to Owners' Perspectives�its quarterly official publication.

Environmental Information Association
This association comprises individuals and organizations concerned about environmental management and control. It collects and disseminates information concerning environmental risks in building. Discussion Forums tackle asbestos, lead and lead paint, mold and other environmental issues. EIA offers a job center to connect members with potential employers.

National Association of the Remodeling Industry
Home improvement is one of America's favorite pastimes. This site represents remodeling contractors, manufacturers of remodeling/building products, wholesalers and distributors. It conducts seminars, workshops, and promotional programs and has developed a certification program. Links take you to other architect and designer associations and various organizations involved in remodeling.

American Society of Interior Designs (ASID)
This is a community of designers, industry representatives, educators, and students committed to interior design. They offer a designer referral service, a job bank, sustainable design center, aging population design center, and a design blog.

Interior Design Society
This society is devoted "�solely to fostering excellence in the practice of residential interior design." Founded in 1963 its members include interior designers and decorators, design studios and home furnishings stores, select manufacturers of design products and services. Students of interior design are welcome to join. ISD stages several programs and makes available a variety of publications. Conferences, seminars, and tours of historic sites noted for their architecture or design are listed on their events calendar.

American Construction Inspectors Association (ACIA)
This organization comprises individuals interested in improving the quality of construction inspection. Seminars focus on such topics as asphalt, transportation guidelines, play areas, and wood design. Other than detailed information for construction inspectors, the organization publishes the Inspector, a bimonthly magazine for the construction inspection industry.

Construction Industry Roundtable
This group represents the interests of CEOs from architectural, engineering, and construction firms in the United States. It aims to develop strong management approaches through networking. GREAT is the Gulf Rebuild: Education, Advancement, and Training arm of the organization. Industry news features economic news and career opportunities. A design competition is a monetary award for students in architecture, engineering, and construction.
