Covering: Global Warming and Global Climate Change

The Alliance for Climate Protection
Founded by former United States Vice-President and 2007 Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Al Gore, this organization seeks to persuade "based on scientific facts" the "importance and urgency of adopting and implementing effective and comprehensive solutions for the climate crisis." Web site contains a blog and links to information on how to do your part to forestall global warming.

An Inconvenient Truth
This is the website to Al Gore's documentary film. It contains information about the film, the science, reviews and other supportive materials.

Environmental Defense
Since 1967, this non-profit organization has linked science, economics and law to create innovative, equitable and cost-effective solutions to society's most urgent environmental problems one of which is global warming. There are "tips and tools" for energy efficiency, action alerts, and various information links.

Carbon Disclosure Project
The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is an independent not-for-profit organization which holds the largest database of corporate climate change information in the world.

Climate Ark-Climate Change and Global Warming Portal
This Website is a "portal and search engine dedicated to promoting public policy that addresses global climate change through reductions in carbon dioxide and other emissions, renewable energy, energy conservation and ending deforestation." It links to news stories on climate change and global warming, provides an Internet search engine and a browsable directory for the topic and contains links to other news sources such as blogs, archives and more.


Global Warming Facts and Our Future
The Koshland Science Museum of the National Academy of Sciences provides a fine overview of global warming through its online exhibit on global warming. Includes activities such as a CO2 Emissions Calculator and much more.

Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)
One of the 2007 recipients of the Nobel Peace Prize, the IPCC was established in 1988 as a collaboration of the World Meteorological Organization and the United Nation's Environment Program. The Web site contains links to publications, press releases and speeches, presentations and graphics, official documents and more.

Pew Center on Global Climate Change
The Pew Center is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that "brings together business leaders, policy makers, scientists and other experts" to look at "complex and often controversial issues." Global climate change on this Web site includes basic to in depth information which can be viewed as statistics, policy reports, speeches, discussions, business leadership both domestic and global in scope and more.

StopGlobalWarming.org
Stop Global Warming is a non-partisan effort to bring citizens together to declare that global warming is here now and that it is time to demand solutions. The website sponsors a "virtual march" and has links to educational, classroom action, and other promotional activities including a list of featured "marchers".


U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Climate Change
This government Web site provides information on all aspects of the topic�climate, emissions, impacts, actions and more. It contains a resource center with links to publications, maps, listservs, presentations, data and other areas of interest. The "Where You Live" section of the site contains information specific to all the individual United States as well as other countries and parts of the world.

U.S. Global Change Research Information Office
This Web site "provides access to selected bibliographic data bases; web sites at the participating Federal Agencies; relevant environmental data, catalog, and library systems; and a section that deals with environmental education" on global change. The "Links" section is especially useful.

What's Up With the Weather?
"This site examines "the science and politics of one of the most controversial issues of the 21st century: the truth about global warming." Topics include fossil fuel consumption, the role ice cores play in our global environment, and predictions for "what would happen to the world's coastlines if the West Antarctic Ice Sheet melted." Includes a teacher's guide and a FAQ. A production of Nova and Frontline, programs produced by the Public Broadcasting Service(PBS)."
