Basic math concepts and fundamentals
Presents a series of readings and practice problems for those who need to improve their
math skills. Contains lessons on scientific notation, the metric system, significant digits,
algebraic method, graphing and algebraic formulation, and computation using logs and
antilogs.
Math archives
Offers information made available by the Mathematics Archives. The table of contents lists
goals, software, abstracts and reviews, materials organized by mathematical content, type,
and site. Type of material includes electronic journals, tutorials, graphing calculators,
preprints, and more. Offers mathematics archives information as well. The goal of the
group is to distribute public domain and shareware software for the teaching of
mathematics at the community college, college and university level.
MathDL
The Mathematical Sciences Digital Library is a high quality, easily navigable site published by the Mathematical Association of America.
The website offers outstanding free and subscription resources especially for teachers and students. The free resources include: the
scholarly Journal of Online Mathematics and its Applications (JOMA), Digital Classroom Resources, a collection of online learning materials that are
classroom tested and peer-reviewed, and Convergence, an online magazine
that uses mathematics history to teach mathematics today. Math DL also has several subscription and membership only resources such as a book review database.
MathGuide
The MathGuide, located at the Lower Saxony State and University Library, Gottingen
(Germany), is an Internet-based subject gateway to scholarly relevant information in the
mathematics. Resources are described and evaluated with a set of metadata.
Math2.org
Presents mathematical tables. Includes tables related to number notation, the addition
table, the multiplication table, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, and calculus,
along with other mathematical tables. Contains a site search engine. Links to mathematics
sites.
Math World
is an online encyclopedia of mathematics created by internet encyclopedist Eric W. Weissten, (Caltech PhD, Planetary Astronomy).
It aims to be �the web�s most complete mathematical resource, assembled over more than a decade�. The index lists eleven categories
including Algebra, Geometry, Calculus and Analysis, and Discrete Mathematics. It is regularly updated, very comprehensive, and has
interactive graphics, animations and three-dimensional objects, as appropriate.
Professor Freedman's math help
This website addresses math anxiety, including the math teacher's ten commandments,
math anxiety self test, ten ways to reduce math anxiety, students' math anxiety bill of
rights. The site also provides information about basic math and algebra and specifically
addresses the needs of the community college adult learner.
The
math forum : Internet mathematics library
The Math Forum functions as an online math education community center, funded by the National Science Foundation. The Forum is located at Drexel University.
The website contains math resources by subject for K-12, college math, and advanced math and provides access to resources on math education. The website is
searchable by topic, resource, and education level.
The Mathematical Atlas: a gateway to modern mathematics
This is a collection of short articles that provide an introduction to 97 topics in modern mathematics. Material is arranged according
to the Mathematics Subject Classification devised by AMS. Information can be found in several ways: by clicking on a visual �math map�,
taking an audio tour, browsing a list of subject headings, or using keywords in a search engine. Each introductory article covers the history,
related areas, and subfields of a topic and provides links to books, software and other websites.
