The African Music Encyclopedia
This site provides a nice starting place for information on African music. Although the search feature does not work, the site allows users to browse by artist and country. It also provides a nice glossary, an extensive bibliography (under "Store") with links to purchase material on Amazon, and a rich set of web links for further research. Additionally, the "sources" provides a list of vendors who provide CDs and/or music.
American Music Institute
With the mission to "foster collaborative investigation of musical life in the United States, drawing from resources throughout the UM School of Music, across campus, and throughout the nation," this is a good source of information on music resources and projects at the University of Michigan. Of particular interest are the "Research" and "Projects" sections. The "Affiliates" section provides a list of other resources at the University of Michigan that might be of interest to musicians or music students.

Didaskalia: Ancient Theatre Today
Published in association with King's College, London, Didaskalia is "an electronic journal and resource dedication to the study of ancient Greek and Roman drama in performance." Frequently updated, this site provides access to the full text of the journal. It also provides an introduction to ancient theatre with many additional links ("Study Area"), and links to information on performances, conferences and events ("Listings"). A rich resource for those interested in theatre and performance.
International Arts Resources from Artslynx
Designed and maintained by stage designer and professor, Richard Finkelstein, this site provides access to a multitude of websites on the arts. Artslynx is a rich resource on a variety of arts topics: sections include theatre, dance, music and much more. There is also a fairly extensive section of Employment Resources for jobs in the arts.
Performing Arts Encyclopedia
Provided by the Library of Congress, this site is a rich resource that allows users to search and browse (by title, name, and subject), more than 235 music theater and dance resources. It includes music (both digitalized sheet music and audio files), photographs, manuscripts, letters, and many other documents. In addition, the site provides access to special presentations and featured collections on the performing arts from the Library of Congress.
