Covering: Suicide and Right to Die

American Association of Suicidology
This website serves as a national clearinghouse for information on suicide. Covered are such things as warning signs of suicide, advice for survivors of suicide, and statistics on suicide.

International Task Force on Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide
"The goal of the International Task Force is to make certain that a patient's right to receive care and compassion is not replaced by a doctor's right to prescribe poison or administer a lethal injection." Although providing strongly worded arguments against assisted suicide and euthanasia, this site also provides information on pain control and hospice care.

Trusted health information from the US National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health.

National Institute of Mental Health
The NIMH aims to reduce the burden of mental illness and behavioral disorders through research on mind, brain and behavior. National Strategy for Suicide Prevention
"This site is intended to help users learn about suicide and suicide prevention." Some of the topics discussed are suicide contagion, biological factors for suicide, inheritance factors for suicide, race factors for suicide, and gender or sexual orientation factors for suicide.

Public Agenda: Right to Die
&auot;Public Agenda is an objective explorer of public opinion and a scrupulously fair minded producer of education materials." The right to die is one of many issues covered by this website. Included is an overview, a fact file, and discussion guides that give three different perspectives on the right to die.

SAVE: Suicide Awareness Voices of Education
"SAVE's mission is to prevent suicide through public awareness and education, eliminate stigma, and serve as a resource to those touched by suicide."

Suicide.org
A nonprofit organization dedicated to issues surrounding suicide, including prevention, treatment and support.
