Alternative Resources on the U.S. "War Against Terrorism"
The International Responsibilities Task Force of the American Library Association provides news, analysis, commentary that counter the opinion and policy of the U.S. government. Includes links to information from the American Friends and the Arab American Anti-Discrimination Committee to name a few. Includes links to letter writing campaigns, demonstrations ,and other anti-war activities.Also links to ALA's resolutions on intellectual freedom and the protection of privacy during the "U.S. War on Terrorism" are provided.

American Red Cross
Tips from the trusted nonprofit, outlining steps to take for preparedness.

FBI War on Terrorism
This site provides links to FBI publications such as "Terrorism in the U.S."and "Patterns of Global Terrorism". Includes web sites such as the Amerithrax Investigation, Counterrorism Training, Bioterrorism Preparedness, and Homeland Security.

FEMA: Terrorism
FEMA outlines the recent technological advances and ongoing international political unrest that are components of increased risk to national security.

Legal Information Research Institute: Backgrounder on Terrorism Law
Cornell Legal Information Institute defines terrorism "...as any acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal law of the United States or of a state." LII is one of the most consulted sources of online legal information. This link on terrorism chronicles events since 1961 and reports on foreign terrorist organizations.

Library of Congress American Memory
The September 11,2001 Documentary Project presents eyewitness accounts, diverse opinions of Americans following the terrorist attacks, and over 200 audio and video interviews. Graphic items and written narratives are included in this tribute.

RAND Research Area: Terrorism and Homeland Security
RAND has been involved in international terrorism research and analysis for over 30 years. It disseminates unclassified information online,which can be downloaded for free, on such topics as national and global security, force structure and training, and logistics and infrastructure. Featured publications include the "Muslim World After 9/11" and "Reporters on the Battlefield."

Terrorism
This site provides access to current and relevant information on all aspects of terrorism. "Attack on America" contains subsections on archives, commemorations, and documents. "Operation Enduring Freedom," prisoner abuse, and rebuilding Iraq are other points of entry for timely information.

Terrorism: The Center for Defense Information
CDI provides very current fact sheets and information briefs on a wide range of topics from the arms trade to homeland security and terrorist networks. A current list of foreign and other terrorist organizations is provided.

Terrorism Law and Policy (JURIST)
Information on U.S. anti-terrorism laws, terrorism and civil liberties, and world anti-terrorism laws. Includes press briefings, hearings transcripts, and expert commentary on international terrorism initiatives.

United Nations
Includes the latest news on terrorism from the United Nations, as well as the global strategy to counter terrorism.

United States Institute of Peace
US Institute of Peace is an independent nonpartisan entity created by Congress "...to promote the prevention, management, and peaceful resolution of international conflict." Daily news updates, special reports, facts and figures assist the user in understanding the disputes in the world today. It emphasizes the peace process and peace makers rather than the war and the military.
