Cultural Influences of Three Latino Artists
February 6 - April 7

The current exhibition explores the complex relationship between art and cultural identity in the United States. The three contemporary Latino artists in the exhibition, Nereida Garcia Ferraz, Sam Hernandez and Margaret Vega, have had very different responses to their cultural heritage. Drawing on this heritage, as well as on sources outside the Latino tradition, these artists demonstrate the ability of art of transcend ethnic and national boundaries, thus challenging us to rethink our assumptions about contemporary Latino art.
