Jim Cogswell: Meanwhile
Colorful and exciting, Cogswell's work originates in the figure; by the time the piece is completed the figure has merged into an abstract design.

Leonardo Nierman
May 8 - June 22
As the third in the three-part series on Latin American art, Washtenaw Community College presents an exhibition of works by Mexican artist Leonardo Nierman. Widely regarded as one of Mexico’s leading contemporary artists, Leonardo Nierman creates works that challenge and inspire, drawing upon themes from the beauty of nature, his love of music, to the mysteries of the cosmos and beyond.
Nierman has reinvented the natural world in these tapestries, paintings and sculptures. These extraordinary works explore how lively arrangements of color and form can be used to represent his feelings, memories, dreams and sensations.
A Life Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts in London, Nierman’s works, paintings, tapestries and sculptures are in major collections around the world, including the Vatican Gardens, the Albert Einstein Institute of New York, and the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
