Personal Counseling
Life gets complicated and stressful for everyone at times . . . but it
doesn't have to disrupt your academic performance. Our Licensed Professional
Counselors and Social Workers are on hand to provide support and counseling
through these difficult times so you can continue to succeed in your classes.
All sessions are private and confidential.
Please call (734) 677-5102 to make an appointment or stop in in person.
We're located on the 2nd floor of the Student Services Building. Click to view our Counseling Department hours.
If you or someone you know is struggling you are not alone. Join MTVU, MTV's 24-hour college network, and the Jed Foundation, which explores college students’ emotional health, in their Emotional Health 101 video.
Half of Us is a great resource to find ways to take control of your emotional health; to use an anonymous screening tool to check your emotional health; to learn how to help a friend because you’re worried about him or her; and to get connected to get help for yourself or a friend.
For
more information on stress, depression, anxiety and more, click
here to access an online behavioral support system created by the
Jed Foundation.
A helpful online resource regarding personal counseling issues is
The
Student Counseling Virtual Pamphlet Collection.
An Alcoholics Anonymous meeting called "Friends of Bill" meets every Wednesday, from noon to 1:00pm in LA 263. For further information, please call the Student Resource and Women’s Center at 677-5105. The SRWC sponsors the AA meeting.
