  • Job Binders and Reference Books: In our library, we have binders that contain entry-level, program-related and post-degree employment opportunities. These binders are updated daily with new job postings. The library also contains many reference books for you to review. These books cover a variety of topics from job searching to resume writing.

  • College Central Network: This is an online job search tool with 24/7 access.
  • Advising Appointments: Students and alumni can schedule individual sessions with our Advisors for assistance with their job search. Email or call 734-677-5155 to set up an appointment.

  • Perfect Interview™ Online: Perfect Interview™ is an advanced, online interactive interview simulation tool that creates a compelling and realistic “simulated interview” experience where you are asked challenging questions and must respond, just as you would in a real job interview. Check out WCC Perfect Interview Online to get started.

  • Employability Skills Workshops: A number of workshops are offered each semester to help prepare WCC students and alumni for employment. Topics include Resume Writing, Interviewing Skills, and Job Search Techniques. Job Fair Preparation workshops are offered prior to our annual Job Fair. We also offer a computerized simulated interviewing tool called "Perfect Interview" so that you can practice answering typical interview questions.

Look at our upcoming workshops to see when these workshops are scheduled, and then contact our office to sign up for the workshops of your choice. If you find that none are offered at convenient times for you, call 734-677-5155 to schedule an appointment with one of our advisors. Also, check out our Employability Skills - Quick Tips to get started.

  • Job Fair: Employment Services hosts two Job Fairs per year – one in October and one in the March. The Fall Job Fair is career specific and involves approximately 25 employers, while the Spring Job Fair, which usually attracts about 50 employers, is more general in nature. The Fall 2009 fair will take place on October 28, 2009 and will focus on Culinary Arts/Hospitality Management. Our next Spring Job Fair will occur on March 25, 2010.

Our Job Fairs are a cost-effective means both for companies who want to recruit potential employees and for job seekers who want to broaden their job search and network with hiring employers. Employers, students, alumni and community members can register to participate by contacting the Employment Services Office by phone at 734-677-5155, fax at 734-677-5444 or email at . Prospective attendees may want to look at our Job Fair Tips (PDF) to prepare themselves for attending such events.

  • College Work Study Opportunities: Placement assistance is offered for students eligible for financial aid to obtain part-time College Work Study employment on campus.

  • Cooperative Education: Cooperative Education is an academic program that blends classroom learning with paid practical work experience. To participate in this program, you must meet certain eligibility requirements.

  • Employment Services Resources: The Employment Services Center Staff can show you how to access local employment opportunities, post your resume online and become familiar with a variety of websites to assist in your job search. Check out our Employment Services Resources information to learn more about local employers, employment trends and job search resource sites.
