Introduction to GED
The tests of General Education Development (GED) provide individuals with the opportunity to earn
a high school credential. By taking and passing a series of five tests in writing, reading, math, science,
and social studies you can demonstrate an acquired level of learning that is comparable to that of high
school graduates. Passing the GED tests earns you a high school equivalency diploma. Having a GED can assist
you by providing access to important educational and career opportunities.
At the Testing Center, we do GED testing only. If you are interested in GED preparation classes, please call Adult Transitions at 734-677-5006.
Registration
In-Person registration can be done in room SC305 on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:15am to 9:00am. Please bring a money order for $150 and made out to Washtenaw Community College.
An Examiner will contact you to confirm your testing dates.
Please be advised there is a rescheduling fee for any test not cancelled with-in one day of testing.
