How M-POD Works
The M-POD program was developed
jointly by Washtenaw Community College and the University of Michigan with
the goal of helping WCC scholars attain their educational
goals. Under the terms of the program, students
who attend WCC for two years and who meet specific requirements would be competitive for admission to one of the twelve participating
schools and colleges at the University of Michigan.
Many WCC students who thought that the University of Michigan was "out of reach" have made
a successful transfer!
For example: DeMarco Sheppard transferred
from WCC to the UM College of Science, Literature, and the Arts.
He graduated with a major in economics and went on to be an Account Manager
at Key Bank in Ann Arbor. "The program gave me a wonderful opportunity
to transfer to a quality four-year institution," says DeMarco.
