Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS)
Parents of dependent students may be eligible for a credit based Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS). There are two steps to the PLUS loan application process:
- Go to the PLUS Online OpenNet website and apply for the loan.
You will have the option to sign your application electronically or print, sign and mail the paper copy directly to your Lender. Once completed, your Lender will notify Washtenaw Community College that your loan is ready to be certified.
- Complete the Parent PLUS Loan Authorization Form (PDF). This form must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office before the Parent PLUS loan will be processed.
The PLUS loans currently have a fixed interest rate of 8.5%. Repayment on the PLUS loans typically begins 60 days after the second disbursement. For information about interest rates and repayment contact your lender.
