Meet the Board: Anne Williams
Ms. Williams was first elected to the Board of Trustees in November 2006 for a two-year term that began in January 2007; the two-year term was the remainder of the late Trustee Jerry Jernigan's six-year term. Williams was re-elected in November 2008 for a six-year term that began in January 2009.She has previously held the position of Board Secretary and currently is Board Chair for 2013-2014.
Presently, Williams serves as chief executive officer for ExcellenceQuest, Inc, and leads performance excellence initiatives implementing processes and systems to increase capacity and effectiveness of organizations within the business, education and the nonprofit sectors throughout the United States. Prior to that, she spent over seven years with DaimlerChrysler as coordinator of the dimensional management programs for two vehicle programs. Williams has thirty years business and industry experience and has been actively engaged in various business and professional organizations.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from Eastern Michigan University; a Master of Science degree in industrial technology from Eastern Michigan University; a Graduate certificate in nonprofit management and leadership from Lawrence Technological University; and is currently an EdD doctoral candidate, Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at the University of Phoenix.
Currently Ms. Williams provides her volunteer time and expertise to the Chelsea Center for the Arts, Growing Hope and as an Association of Community College Trustee assocaite committee member. Williams has served on numerous boards and community organizations in the past that include Washtenaw County Workforce Development Board, Washtenaw County Planning Advisory Board, Chelsea School District School Improvement Team,Dexter Township Planning Commission, U of M Health Systems Housing Bureau for Seniors Advisory Board, and was a community champion for the Blueprint to End Homelessness in Washtenaw County.
Williams has over 30 years experience within higher education administration and as adjunct faculty for Oakland Community College, ITT Technical Institute, Wayne State University, Lawrence Technological University, and Eastern Michigan University. She also served on the Mott Community College Advisory Board of the Workforce Development Institute for Manufacturing Simulation
